Don’t forget to report back Can 😁😁
Ok so we went to the opening of this bar on Sunday afternoon, there were lots of free drinks and eats. The bar is Italian owned and family run. Very nice and friendly people, they had a selection of free drinks from bottled beer, to non alcoholic juices, sangria and some other form of punch drink and off course Prosecco. You were given your drink of choice as you entered and encouraged to sample some of the nibbles which were excellent Italian nibbles.
They had a DJ for the evening and entertained the locals.
It is to be a relaxed drinks and snack bar.
I don’t know how long it will last but I wish them the best.

Thanks CTM, having not met you so not being able to recognise you I would be interested to know which one you were in the pictures on Facebook of the party it looked a good party.
The young lady in the photos who appears to be one of the owners used to be the chef up at Algo Mas.

We were there on Sunday John, very hectic. Going back tonight to see what sort of food they have on offer. They weren't open yesterday afternoon when we went by so imagine it's evening only, at least during the week.

That's a total of 129 bars and restaurants in Caleta. At least 3 more will be opening upstairs in the Castillo Plaza. I don't know how they all survive given the amount of holidaymakers and residents that live here.

OK, having been on opening night we decided to go to Ohana last night to see what sort of stuff they were offering. I have to say the experience was very disappointing. Outside was full so we had to sit inside, not a problem, by the window. Staff were friendly enough, but given there were 4 serving there ere a bit slow serving us. The menu was just snacks but the did offer a 'cold cuts' platter which looked pretty much what they served on opening night - not very impressive. The was a blackboard of daily specials as you walked in, but this wasn't repeated inside. They didn't ask if we wanted food so I'm afraid we downed our drinks and went 'next door' to California. No one here when we arrived and there were three staff serving. As the name suggests it is sort of American themed, We chose cheese burgers, which came with the usual salad garnish and chips. Nothing to shout about but OK I guess. So, both places snacky, cafe/bars. I wish them well, but we won't be back.

I think its a bit harsh to judge a new place in the first few weeks. I don't think I would
try a new place for a month or so and then judge it. Can't believe there are so many bars
an restaurants in Caleta (129), especially when taking into account all the AI hotels

If the staff can't be attentive at the start I fail to see how it will improve. It is not a large establishment

Thanks for the review, TF. I was hoping for more than snacks, right now not really convinced if we'll ever give them a shot. Time will tell, I guess.
I'm guessing they don't have a large kitchen area.
