Olivers - Caleta de Fuste
#1
OK, so we knew Oliver was trying to sell last year and it appears he managed to do so. The new owners re-opened the doors a week or so ago so we decided to see what changes there were. Well it bit of re-decorating has gone on and all the books and albums have disappeared. Here is Jill's report. https://www.facebook.com/groups/13051221...with_story

Hope Ian & Jill don't mind here is a cut and paste of Jill's report -

Well, Oliver! reopened its doors under new management a few days ago. This was one of our favourite places and we went along yesterday afternoon for late lunch. I have to say that I was disappointed that it didn't stay Spanish and is now Italian. I believe that now makes it 7 Italian places in Caleta, plus pizza places. The menu was just part of Oliver's old menu, combing drinks and snacks. We asked if that was the only food they were doing at the moment, thankfully they said no as I did not want burger and chips [Image: 1f603.png]:D Obviously no menu sorted out yet, and he rattled off a few pasta dishes and seafood. We both opted for the seafood but hadn't quite heard what he had said (music was rather loud) so it was a surprise LOL! Turned out to be Dorada baked in foil. Mine was very nice as tasty, Ian's fish was larger and unfortunately part of it was not quite fully cooked. The manager was apologetic and didn't charge us for that one. We had some bruschettas to start with and finished with cheesecake. All of which were very nice. We had a jug of Sangria, and I must say that, apart from the one Ian makes, it was probably one of the best I have had! They are carrying on with doing cocktails and are also keeping the name of Oliver! They've taken down all the awnings on the terrace, so we shall have to wait and see what they will be putting up [Image: 1f642.png]:) Despite the incident of the fish, I think we would try it again when they have their menu sorted out.
