Usually, when we're in the capital and fancy some pizza, we tend to go back to Caleta and end up in Smile. Good pizza, nice view but also a rubbish WiFi, although this isn't really that important.
Anyway, the last time we needed to stay in Puerto due to the ongoing Carnival so we decided to visit a pizza place called La Martina. It was only 5 minutes drive (would walk but time was of the essence) so once there we found locked door with a holiday notice. All we could do was to grab the phones and tried to find the nearest pizza place that isn't the worst one in Puerto.
We found Pizzeria il Pomodoro which was only a couple of minutes walking distance from La Martina. Not the best view in the town, looks more like a place you would order a take away pizza but still had a plenty space to sit. So came in and knowing we are in the capital, we tried out (really limited) Spanish. The lady replied (surprisingly) in much better English and we got our drinks and menu to order from about 50 different variations.
The pizza was made in about ten minutes and tasted really good. The base was soft but still crunchy and I would say, even better than the one in Smile. Fresh & delicious ingredients, crazy variations. 10 out of ten for the pizza.
The lady was very friendly and attentive. Toilets really clean and modern and I liked to see paper towels instead of the hand dryer as well as an automatic (sensor) water tap.
We are definitely going back to this one, many, many times. Can already see our future selves to sit there and compliment ourselves on finding this little gem.
