Noticias:

Restored the Plaza de La Molina de La Charca in the capital.

In this renovated space will house a large-scale museum project that will be a reality in the coming months.
The mayor of the City of Puerto del Rosario, Juan Jiménez, accompanied by the Councilor for Works and Services, José Juan Herrera, and the Councilor for Contracting, Peña Armas, have visited the Molina de La Charca where they have completed, with great success, the works of its rehabilitation and improvement after months of work, converting, today, to this point of the capital neighborhood of La Charca in a singular and attractive point for both neighbors and visitors to house an image of its exteriors completely renovated, modern and new, with areas of shade and rest, as well as native vegetation.

The conversion of this space has been carried out by the winning company, Zona de Obra or Rosal S.L., which carried out the works and which have already been received by the local administration. The president of the neighborhood association La Molina de La Charca was also present at the visit.

This rehabilitation, so necessary after years with a poor state of conservation, has been promoted by the Department of Works directed by José Juan Herrera, and had the collaboration of the Department of Contracting directed by Peña Armas.

The next step that will give a greater revaluation to the neighborhood is the museum project that contemplates housing within La Molina de La Charca the Department of Culture, directed by Juan Manuel Verdugo, remembering that in it once a large part of the island grain was ground, and that it will be a great cultural and tourist attraction for the municipality.

The City Council of Puerto del Rosario collaborates jointly with the Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Tourist Infrastructures, for the museum rehabilitation of this mill that is located on Juan de Bethencourt Avenue with Teresa López corner.

The mayor of the capital, Juan Jiménez, states that "this government team comes to value the cultural interest that La Molina de La Charca has, with years of history, and that will mean providing, after hosting the Museum in it, a greater attraction for the development of the economic and social activity of the municipality and the island in general thanks to this emblematic and important work for the history of Fuerteventura and Puerto of the Rosary".

The Councilor for Works, José Juan Herrera, stresses that "from the Department of Works we sought to improve the image and the state of part of our historical-cultural heritage such as this Molina de La Charca and we have achieved it, seeing now the new image of improvement that it presents and that was so necessary after carrying out the works of its completed rehabilitation, in addition to the fact that citizens can now also enjoy a large leisure space".
