Very good point Windermeregolfer, I must get my wife to ask her sister next time she's on the phone. I'll reply here once I get an answer. Many thanks for that info, to be fair I never even though about that. I think it was only an A4 size padded envelope come to think about it.

We had no post for 4 weeks, then a gap of 2 weeks before we received anymore.  A book dispatched via Royal Mail on 10 March arrived on Thursday (30 April).

I think Amazon UK have given up on using Correos.  Our last 3 orders were shipped via Germany using DHL.  They took three days to get here.  Pretty impressive.

My wife asked her sister yesterday about the posting of the package and she said that she was never asked when posting it if surface or airmail as she just assumed it would go airmail as I'm sure 99% of the population would too.

We wait with bated breath on the arrival of it.

We’ve just received another package from Amazon UK via Germany (Monday 4 May).  It was dispatched from Leipzig last Monday and delayed by customs for 1 day.  It should have arrived last Friday (1 May) but it was a public holiday.

I just had a small package arrived from the uk.

Posted on 15.04
Delivered 06.05
Total Time 21 Days

It was tracked so I could watch the progress.

15.04 Item Posted
Inter UK Routing
22.04 Item "leaving UK"
25.04 Item received Madrid
04.05 "Classified" (correos Website)
06.05 Delivered

It seems that it spent quite a while sitting waiting to go from UK to Madrid (3 Days)
And even longer waiting in Madrid to come to Fuerte (11 Days)

The Air Cargo industry is really in a difficult position due to lack of passenger flights (Yes, Passenger flights do carry a lot of cargo) so that could explain some of the delays.
If anyone is interested in understanding the impact of COVID on the Air Cargo Industry here is an interesting video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2oPk20OHBE

Thanks McAdam, it does make sense with the cargo, in hindsight we should have had it tracked, something learnt.

I am so angry I could scream 😫I have been waiting weeks for delivery of some vitamins only to find out after paying a fortune in delivery charges that once they arrived in fuerte they were sent back to the UK undelivered even one delivery stating refused! No one tried to delivery I’ve been home due to the lockdown like everyone else. When I lived in corralejo I never had any problems like this with the post office but since living in Puerto Rosario the postal service is abysmal. We have had cards left in the wrong post boxes which are outside
The building and different post workers all the time. I hope to move from Puerto in the near future just can’t believe how dreadful the post is here it’s cost me a small fortune in delivery charges.

I once had  some vitamins/supplements delivered from UK to Fuerteventura.  They did get delivered, but in addition to the already hefty cost of them and the postage, I had to pay Euros 26 in taxes!!!  Never again!.

There are two good "health"shops I know of in Puerto del Rosario, can you not get what you want there?
