gambuesa negro pozo

Pozo Negro gambuesa

La Rosa de Pozo Negro recovers in stone its traditional gambuesa of coastal cattle.

Next to the gambuesa, the restoration of the warehouse also used as a refuge for coastal farmers is completed.

The mayor of Antigua, Matías Peña García, and the councilor of the primary sector, Fernando Estupiñán have visited the stone reconstruction of the traditional Gambuesa de la Rosa de Pozo Negro that is completed in the coming days.

The City Council of Antigua itself from the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries finances and executes the Conditioning and Improvement of the Warehouse and Gambuesa in the Rosa de Pozo Negro, within a framework of actions aimed at recovering traditional structures and characteristics in the Municipality such as fountains, water tanks, gambuesas, warehouses and masonry walls bordering roads and gavias.

It is conditioned together with the gambuesa, the warehouse of habitual use to store tools or sacks of millet and as a refuge for the organization of meetings of farmers and apañadas.

The action of the City Council of Antigua reaches the final phase of its execution and consists of replacing the wooden pallets with a stone masonry wall with an approximate perimeter of 100 meters, which allows to take advantage of an area of about 700 square meters to collect the cattle of coast and proceed to their control and marking of the goats by the farmers.
