Ryanair Schedule Change...

(20-04-2020, 07:52 AM)Perrypower1 Wrote: I have been waiting the Same length of time for a Ryanair refund and a Jet2 refund.  Also for parking refund from East Midlands.  I opted for a voucher on car rental as you get a 25% bonus if you take the two year voucher rather than cash.

Ryanair has communicated better than Jet2 and said refund was processed on Thursday and I should see it right away but nothing yet.  I am a patient person and other than a short form to say I wanted refund from all Of them I have left them to it.

Hi - interesting they have now processed your refund, would you mind updating once you have received it please.

Good to know that someone has been told that their refund was processed on Thursday. Hope uts not just another stalling tactic by RA as there should be no delay in the process in itself. When they had a refund button it was as far as I know refunded pretty quickly. Good luck perrypower let us know when it is actually banked will give the rest of us some reassurance. I am waiting for 2 refunds 1 with RA the other with Jet2.

Just received this (name and ref number removed by me). Previously told we were getting refunds.

Dear Customer,

Over the past months the spread of the COVID-19 virus has caused many EU governments to impose flight and/or travel bans which grounded over 99% of Ryanair’s flights. We are doing everything we can to support our customers, our people and protect jobs. We are ready to return flying when COVID-19 is defeated, hopefully sooner rather than later.

We regret that these Government travel restrictions have forced the cancellation of your Ryanair flight(s) under booking reference:: LV3B6Y.

Please see below details of your travel voucher for 609.96GBP, the full value of your unused booking. This amount can be used for the purchase of Ryanair flights and other services at any time over the next 12 months. It is simple to use this voucher when making a booking on the Ryanair website or app.

Voucher Name:

Voucher Number:

Voucher Value:
  609.96GBP
Voucher Expiry Date:
  17/April/2021

If you do not wish to accept this voucher option and wish to move your flight or request a refund, please click here to contact us. Please note that as our customer care agents are required to work from home to limit the spread of COVID-19 virus, payment security restrictions prevent us from processing refunds as quickly as we would like to.

We invite you to use your voucher to book your next trip and we look forward to seeing you again on a Ryanair flight in the near future. Passengers who made their bookings using travel agents, or on line travel agencies should contact these companies from where they purchased their tickets to find out more about their options.

Our priority always remains the health and well-being of our people and customers.

Yours sincerely,

Typical delaying tactics, but at least it not in the "Extraordinary circumstances" category yet. What I cant get my head round is the fact people are accepting vouchers not knowing (a) when if ever flights will resume to destinations the customer will want to go to) (b) what the prices will be like) & © what if the airline goes bust, will ATOL come to the rescue) All in all the odds are heavily stacked in the airlines at this moment in time.

Hi Jason,
So is this the refund they told you had been processed last week ? If so then they were being disingenuous in saying your refund “had been processed & would appear in your bank” Instead they “grant” the refund but then try to fob you off with vouchers. I assume if you reject these & contact them for a full “Money” refund then you will have another time spell to wait for that. They may be hoping that (as they requested) the government change the rules regarding vouchers instead of refunds at this time 🤬🤬🤬🤬

It was Perrypower1 told of the refund, see above post, the voucher offer was expected to be honest, the other option is to contact customer services, so yes I agree not great but not unexpected from them. I’m ok with it as booked for Christmas with the voucher. My love for Fuerteventura outweighs my    feelings towards Mr O’Leary. We now have a second voucher to use as wife and I had booked separate flights as family couldn’t all travel for Easter at the same time.

I've received an email from Ryanair today saying that the flight I've booked from Fuerteventura to East Midlands on 19 July has a 10 minute flight change.

I don't think I'll be going anywhere.

Ah, ok. My mistake, I thought it was you that said you were getting the refund. Wouldn’t put anything past O’Leary 🤣😂🤣😂

Just received an email this morning from RA regarding our cancelled flight which was for the 12th April. We requested a refund at the first opportunity as we have already booked well ahead, but today's email looks like they will not be giving any cash refunds any time soon ........see quote below from the link they sent:-

"You can request a cash refund however bear in mind we will place your request in the cash refund queue until the COVID-19 emergency has passed. "

Not sure if all carriers are behaving this way or is it just RA hiding behind their thick skinned executive?
