State of emergency - Limited freedom of movement

This morning, I tried to drive from El Cotillo to Mercadona in Corralejo.  I was stopped by the police in Lajares and told that I could only go to my nearest supermarket (Cotillo).  Has anybody else had a similar scenario?
 
Another question.  We own two properties in different villages and one of them is empty.  Can we go there to check everything is ok and to feed the cats that are living in the garden?

Worrying. Am hoping they will not stop traffic to the Mercadona in Caleta as the Dinos in town have virtually nothing and the Spar in Atlantico is not as good for food as the Mercadona. 

What kind of supermarket is available in Cotillo? Is it very small?

I don't know about driving to your other house. I would hope that "checking on a property" would fall under reasonable exception (or work, if you rent it out?) but I'm not sure.

re part one of your enquiry no not heard anything similar, if that was correct we would be limited to the Spar in the Atlantico centre rather than being able to go to Mercadona and Lidl on the Costa Antigua Estate.

Re part 2, does your second property have a pool as it appears on health grounds pools can be maintained, as the different pool cleaners have been to properties around us, so so you could use that as a reason for visiting your second property.

Just been in verbal contact, across the fence, with a neighbour who has indicated that you have to use your local (nearest) supermarket so for us that is the Spar in the Atlantico  which is not bad but less choice than Mercadona.

There are several supermarkets in the village, 2 x Superdino, 1 x Spar and a couple of the old, original village supermercados.  There is plenty of everything here, you name it, they have it. Almost seems overstocked now that most holiday makers have gone. All is calm, relaxed, more of a Guardia Civil presence today than through the week.  We often pop over to Lidl in Rosario, but figure that may not go down to well with the Guardia Civil, who probably don't care whether or not Gin is available there for 3.09Euros a 70cl bottle!

Overall we feel a much better place to be than Blighty right now, but nice to have a choice nonetheless.

I was on my way with Wife to supermarket  only 200 metres away in order to carry the heavy(awkward) water.
Stopped by Guardia only one person allowed out of House now being strictly enforced.
That was always the ruling from the beginning but until today they had not been stopping   "obvious couples" 
Thank goodness for my lessons with Duolingo and we parted cheerfully.

Were that to be taken literally, Mercadona would have no more than 200 customers.

Once all the tourist have gone back to their respective countries there should be about 116.000 people on the island for I don't know how many supermarkets and small grocery outlets, so I bet the ratio of customers to outlet is quite low.
