their islands canary summer first heatwave preparing major

The Canary Islands are preparing for their first major heatwave of the summer,
#1
Following stormy conditions across parts of mainland Spain on Tuesday, a powerful anticyclone is moving in, bringing with it a sharp and sustained rise in temperatures.

According to Rubén del Campo, spokesperson for the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the combination of this high-pressure system and a mass of very warm air from lower latitudes will create “a warm episode that will be the first heatwave of this summer.”

In the Canary Islands, the heat will start to build gradually from Friday, with temperatures expected to reach between 34°C and 36°C in southern areas of the more mountainous islands, as well as in Fuerteventura. However, it is as we move into next week that forecasters predict the most extreme temperatures, with the possibility of some areas climbing above 40°C.

Residents and tourists across the Canary Islands are being advised to take extra care during the hottest periods of the day, stay hydrated, and avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, particularly vulnerable groups such as the elderly, young children, and those with health conditions.

The Canarian health authorities are expected to issue specific guidance as the heatwave develops.
To me drinking responsibly means do not spill it.
