The festival will be held in the historic Plaza de Las Escuevas, in the historic center of Puerto del Rosario, this Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9. The first Oktoberfest will take place in Puerto del Rosario under the impulse of the Department of Tourism directed by Sonia Álamo together with the Fuertegourmet association, and in collaboration with the area of Celebrations held by David Perdomo, as the festival is framed within the programming for the Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of the Rosary, that, in addition, this weekend, reach their final stretch with the event 'Risas por Puerto'. The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, Juan Jiménez, encourages you not to miss the essence of this festival, "which is an opportunity to enjoy German culture, with its traditional games, music, an interesting selection of beers and, of course, the traditional menus of Bavaria". During the official presentation of the poster and programming of the event, the Councilor for Tourism, Sonia Álamo, said that celebrating this Oktoberfest is "a nod to German tourism, and in this case, the festival will be even more benefited with the
visit of cruise passengers, many of whom are of German origin, who will arrive this Saturday on the first cruise that arrives in the capital port in this new winter season, to also enjoy this event together with neighbors of the island and a large number of German citizens residing on the island". For his part, the Councilor for Celebrations, David Perdomo, explained that "this event, framed within the programming of the Fiestas de Puerto del Rosario 2022 was included with the desire to reach all possible audiences with this first Oktoberfest that arrives in Puerto del Rosario". The president of the northern area of Fuertegourmet, Gustavo Astrada, together with the president of the aforementioned association, Blas Rodríguez, added that, "indeed, this event is a nod to the cruise passengers who will arrive this Saturday, where we will have several typical activities of the Bavarian lands, such as bodypaint, craft workshops and German food and beer, of course, with the intention of selling approximately 2,000 liters of beer", Aimed. In short, in this historic square in the historic center of the capital, and throughout the weekend, the Oktoberfest will conquer the maritime avenue of Puerto del Rosario with tastings of typical German products, as well as a wide sample of the German culture associated with the festival. In addition, as a novelty there will be a solidarity barrel for one hour, from 12.00 to 13.00 hours of both days, whose proceeds will be donated entirely to ALUDME, a non-profit association aimed at helping all people affected by myoclonic dystonia, and all types of primary dystonias that appear in childhood. The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Celebrations directed by David Perdomo, has been forced to suspend the visual show planned for tonight on Avenida Reyes de España, for not having received today the necessary permits from the Spanish Agency for Security Area (AESA). The Department of Celebrations had planned for tonight a visual show instead of fireworks, for the damage they cause in people with functional diversity, babies and animals. Finally this act that would leave a beautiful image in the sky of Puerto del Rosario, without harming anyone, can not be carried out due to the lack of necessary permits for it. Until the last minute it has been tried by this Department to carry out the act but, to date, the EASA has not issued the essential authorization to celebrate it in a safe way. For David Perdomo, councilor of the area, "this is bad news, since the forecast was to surprise the neighbors of Porto in their big day with a novel show, which would leave an image for the history of the sky of our city, without the need to use pyrotechnics. Despite this setback, the festivities continue throughout the weekend with a very complete agenda for all audiences.
