Thanks for the heads up. Friday's Reggae Festival in Lajares was wonderful! Lots of great, original bands and a mix of reggae, ska and even rapping. Great fun was had by all

Went to the Craft Fair in Antigua today, same stalls as always, lots of crochet, lace etc, few nice leather stalls. It's an hour out and somewhere different for coffee but once you've been once .... Best bit for me was the old implements on display amongst the stalls, but I posted pics of those previously.
The church was open today so I took the chance to have a look inside - reminded me very much of Tetir church.

Is there not a Christmas Fair in Tetir this Sunday, It is the second Sunday of the month and there usually is one in December?

You're right WMG, think it was 12th Dec last year. I've been looking out for notices but not seen anything yet although haven't been through Tetir since last Saturday now I come to think about it!

Friday 16 Dec -  Christmas Market and activities in the Plaza in Caleta de Fuste (opposite the Barcelo Hotel) from 6-10pm.
Friday 16 Dec - Spanish 3rd Division Football - a local derby between Union Puerto and Gran Tarajal at 8.30pm.
Sunday 18 Dec - La Peña market in Vega de Rio Palma (Betancuria) from 10am-2pm.

The Biosphere Market will open its doors on the last day of the year.

The Biosphere Market, dependent on the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, will remain open next Saturday, December 31, at its usual time, from 8 in the morning until 13 hours at noon.

 

As on December 24, Christmas Day, all those who visit the space managed by the Insular Institution during this New Year's Eve will be able to enjoy a tasting of products of local origin, from 9 am in the morning.  

Likewise, those who decide to make their purchases in any of the different stalls that make up the Market will enter to participate in various raffles with lots of traditional products of the gastronomy of Fuerteventura, from cheeses to olive oil, through their exquisite gofio alfajores.  
The Biosphere Market, open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. next to the Bus Station of Puerto del Rosario, is an initiative of the Island Administration that seeks to value local production resulting from the primary sector of the island, bringing the zero kilometer philosophy to consumers.
