Musical Events at La Casa de los Coroneles, La Oliva.
February starts with music and live radio at La Casa de los Coroneles.
All activities are free and take place in the local Root of the People in La Oliva.
A double cultural day will start the cultural agenda of La Casa de los Coroneles next Saturday, February 11. From 11:00 am, and to celebrate World Radio Day, 'Qué buena hora', a program of Canarias Radio presented by the young journalist Tomás Galván, will be broadcast live. At 20:00 hours it will be the turn of the concert of the Kike Perdomo Qt quartet, who will perform 'Friendship', a repertoire of original contemporary jazz compositions.
All the programming of the Casa de los Coroneles is free, although it is necessary to register in advance on its website. Despite the works that are now being carried out in these facilities, the Government of the Canary Islands, owner of this property, has wanted to continue guaranteeing the right to culture to the citizens of Fuerteventura, so that all its cultural agenda is developed in the premises of the neighboring Raíz del Pueblo.
Coinciding with Valentine's Day, Filmoteca Canaria starts 2023 with a film cycle 'Love is a classic', dedicated to the best romantic comedies in the history of cinema of the 30s and 40s of the 16th century. The first screening will be on Thursday 19 at 00:<> p.m., with 'It happened one night' by Frank Capra. This film shows a young and capricious heiress (Claudette Colbert), who manages to escape from her father's yacht, who had locked her up to prevent her wedding to an undesirable man.
On Saturday 18, at 20:00 hours, the singer-songwriter Said Muti will offer a concert with his own songs in which he will travel rock, indie and even soul; showing the lyrical power, the forcefulness of his voice and the energy of an overwhelming live show.
The second session of the cycle 'Love is a classic' will bring us to 'Ninotchka', one of the most representative works of Ernst Lubitsch and starring Greta Garbo, on Thursday 23 at 19:00 p.m. In it, a strict communist agent from Russia who is sent to Paris will meet a handsome gentleman willing to show her the city.
To close the shortest month of the year, on Saturday 25 at 11:30 am, families can enjoy the body percussion workshop 'Danguereko Body Music'. The session aims to play and enjoy without the age difference between children, parents and grandparents being an impediment, through innate human ability to create music.
