'Los Lajares de Tapeo' arrives this November 1 and 2

The gastronomic event promises to delight the palate of residents and visitors to the area


The City Council of La Oliva, through the Department of Commerce, directed by Alexandra Martín, presents today, October 28, the gastronomic event 'Los Lajares de Tapeo' that can be enjoyed on November 1 and 2. During the celebration that will take place at the Lajares Artisan Market, you will be able to enjoy the best local gastronomy, live music and the traditional crafts of the town. The protagonists will be, however, a varied offer of Tapas and dishes with the personal stamp of local chefs who will thus make their cuisine known with the most innovative techniques. Thus, attendees will be able to enjoy options for all tastes, from seafood to the most intense flavors of the land.



The aim of this celebration, which can be enjoyed on Friday, November 1 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 00:00 a.m., is to turn this date into one of the commercial and gastronomic activities of Fuerteventura, thus highlighting the local cuisine and traditions. To this end, the cozy atmosphere of the Lajares craft market will have live music that will liven up the evening with activities for all audiences. Visitors will be able to get hold of unique local products, as well as being able to enjoy culinary workshops and other experiences that will bring culinary techniques closer to young and old.



The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, points out: "The gastronomic event 'Los Lajares de Tapeo' brings the best of our tasting, unique artisanal products and zero-kilometer food to the municipality and our visitors. This special meeting is a unique opportunity to enjoy this weekend the best of the culinary activities, gastronomy and tradition of La Oliva."



For her part, the Councilor for Commerce, Alexandra Martín recalls: "Through this unique event in the center of Los Lajares we intend that both tourists and residents come to enjoy an experience full of flavor, music and tradition. Our goal is to ensure that 'Los Lajares de Tapeo' becomes a loudspeaker of the best of our gastronomy and local commerce, so that the great talents of our municipality, as well as our customs, do not go unnoticed."



Finally, 'Los Lajares de Tapeo' will have the collaboration of the Fuertegourmet Association and the Relax Association. In turn, the Department of Tourism and Environment, directed by David Fajardo, participates with an information point on sustainable tourism, as well as the Department of Public Health, led by Christian González, will be present with a point from the La Oliva Animal Shelter.



This action responds to the local government's commitment to value local gastronomy and talent, thus offering an event accessible to the whole family.

Did anyone attend this event? we were going to, but something came up and we could not, however, some neighbours of ours went to Lajares, but told me nothing was happening, the craft fair was on and there were a lot of people about, but that was all.

I had heard a lot of Events / celebrations were cancelled in Spain as a mark of respect for the lives lost in the flooding disaster in NE Spain?
