The Local Police of La Oliva intervened in the early hours of Saturday in two traffic accidents registered in Corralejo and Lajares, in which the drivers involved tested positive for breathalyzer, according to the Police force.
The first incident occurred on Isaac Peral Street, in Corralejo, where a car collided with several vehicles that were parked.
Upon arriving at the scene, the agents located the driver and carried out a breathalyzer test, which yielded a result of 1.16 milligrams per liter of exhaled air, almost five times above the legal limit allowed.
The second accident occurred around 04:45 a.m. in Lajares, after a warning of a collision with street furniture.
The displaced patrol confirmed the damage and subjected the driver to a breathalyzer test, with a result of 0.60 mg/l, more than double the maximum allowed.
In both cases, the Local Police instructed the proceedings for alleged crimes against road safety, and the drivers were summoned for a speedy trial.
The Police force recalls that alcohol consumption and driving are absolutely incompatible, and urges citizens to act responsibly to avoid risks for both drivers and other road users.
