The SEPRONA began the investigation as a result of the collaboration of a veterinarian who provided assistance to a dog of Canarian podenco breed for a serious pathology of skin ulcerative lesion, which should continue with the treatment to be able to recover the serious injuries that the dog had on the skin. In addition, the complainant stated that its owner did not want to continue with the treatment of cure diagnosed, claiming to lack income and means for that purpose, putting the life of the dog in serious danger in case of not proceeding to its immediate treatment, providing a veterinary report detailing the pathology and treatment to be followed.
For this reason, the Civil Guard went to the home of the owner of the podenco, proceeding to the precautionary seizure by means of an act, because it is a proof of conviction, subsequently making delivery to the protector called Finca Esquinzo Foundation as a precautionary depository of the Canarian podenco dog specimen and at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
In relation to the other dog, it was found on the public road without the custody of its legal owner, observing in the dog poor physical condition, parasitic infection suppuration of the eyes and a large number of large tumors, taking care of the animal the kennel of the town of La Pared, located in the municipality of Pájara, after the collection service is activated.
After the veterinary report where the full identification of the animal and the pathologies it presents, they can put the life of the dog at risk and, at least, represent intolerable suffering in the absence of veterinary treatment, such as high external parasitic load, extreme thinness, malformations with ulcers and bilateral conjunctivitis.
