Don't know if it's the same all over but in Tindaya we had an Easterly gale roar in about 9.30pm, frightening, still going. My wheel barrows were being rolled over and over like kids toys! I've just spent the last hour trying to catch and secure stuff and I don't leave lightweight bits and pieces outside, this is all big stuff. Moved the car because one of the fences looks like it's going over

The wind did get up in Caleta last night as it was getting dark - it felt as if a hurricane was coming!

I was reading something today that talked about negative pressure on the side of a hill that is in the lee of the wind and how it pulls the draught down - I think that is what we experience in Tindaya when the wind is from the E or N. It comes up over Vallebron or Mta Tindaya and then roars down over the Tindaya plains, scary! I'm sure other parts of the island suffer from this effect as well. I'm getting a new
Weather station soon so will be interesting to start measuring wind speed again - the last wind sensor packed up several years ago.
We've had the same strange grey days, quite hot and humid, a few spits of rain on Sunday morning. Today, Monday, the first sight of the sun was about 8pm!!
