What's the weather like? - August 2020

Good morning from a very bright but breezy Caleta.

Yesterday as forecast, with the exception of the temperature which was higher than forecast and reached 31C around 14:00.

Today 07:30, after a clear night, we start with a clear sky with the exception of a bank of cloud over the eastern horizon the temperature circa 22C wind Northerly 166/18 KPH, it is now almost 09:00 the cloud bank is starting to dissipate, the temperature is now 24C, and the wind has moved N/N/easterly and strengthened slightly, now 18/20 KPH.

Forecast:- A warm sunny day with temperatures in the range 18/30C the wind to increase slightly through the day reaching 20/22KPH before moving North again early evening and easing slightly

Good morning from a warm and very calm Caleta.

Yesterday, as was forecast, was a glorious day cloud dispersed very quickly and the temperature reached 30C circa 13:00 and it was still 28C at 19:00.

Today 07:15 a clear if hazy sky wind Northerly 36/8 Kph temperature 23C it is now just after 09:00, and with the exception of some haze over the Eastern horizon, we have a clear blue sky temperature no 24 C with hardly any wind.

Forecast:- warm sunny day, with temperatures in the range 28/32C wind to move N/easterly, but remain very light.

Good morning from a calm and warm Caleta again.

Yesterday, was as forecast a superb day on the Island temperatures in the 30,s most of the day with a light breeze.

Today 07:30, temperature 23C wind Northerly 9/11 KPH and if you look really hard you can se some light cloud over the eastern horizon { I used binoculars } it is now just before 09:00 Temperature is currently approaching 25C the wind has increased slightly.

Forecast a copy of yesterday,  temperatures in the range 28/32C wind to move N/easterly, but remain very light.

The high temps Weather warning seems to be Gran Canaria on Friday and Canaries in general on Saturday. The calima map shows us being covered  Cry.

Good morning from Caleta.

Yesterday was yet another marvelous day on The Island, Temperatures in the high 20, slow 30,s most of the day with a light breeze {Comiseratons to those of you who were supposed to be here, but could not make it }

Today, after an extremely humid night, we have a hazy sky with around 20% cloud cover temperature 22C with a N/Easterly wind of 10/12KPH, and for the first time for a couple of weeks, some condensation on the terraces.

Forecast:-again a  copy of yesterday,  temperatures in the range 28/32C wind to move N/easterly, but remain very light.
As Tamara has already reported there is a Weather warning for extreme temperatures in place for Saturday.

Off to The Airport now will try to update later today.

Good morning from a very muggy Caleta.

Yesterday. Was as forecast very warm day temperatures in the low 30,s for most of the day, and still 25C at 20:00 the onlf difference was some very light cloud developed early evening.

Today 07:30 Ahazy but cloud free start temperatures 23V with a light N/easterly wind of 12/14 KPH, it is now just after 06:00 there is still some haze around, the temperature is currently 25C and the wind remains light.

Forecast:- The haze to burn off by mid morning, the temperatures to be in the range 30/32C for most of the day. and the wind to remain N/easterly but to increase slightly16/18KPH

Good morning from a very warm Caleta.

Yesterday was as forecast, another glorious day on the Island.

Today 07:30, A hazy and very warm start, not a cloud in the sky temperature 24C wind Northerly 16/18 KPH, it is now just after 09:00temperature is already at 26C wind has moved N/Easterly but not increased.

Forecast:- Haze to burn off mid morning { I am not convinced }temperatures to reach low to mid 30,s wind to increase but not significantly.

There is a yellow Weather warning for heat today, and the forecast looking forward to Wednesday / through the weekend is showing forecast temperatures in the 40,s.

Good morning from Caleta.

Yesterday was almost exactly as forecast with the single exception of the wind, which was slightly stronger than forecast, and was a bit blustery after 20:30, but none the less a greay=t day.

Today 07:30 a hazy sunrise temperature 25 C wind N/Easterly 16/18 KPH, it is now just after 09:00 we have a slightly hazy blue sky the visibility to the East is beginning to close in slightly Calima maybe? Temperature 27C wind as it was at 07:30.

Forecast:- Another extremely warm day with temperatures in the low/mid 30,s for most of the day, the wind to increase slightly possibly 20/22KPH.

They have now issued a yellow Weather warning for extreme heat on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thanks, Tamara, I had not spotted that, but looking at forecast temperatures for Thursday and Friday 35 / 39C, they will probably issue at least a yellow warning
