Caldereta to Airport New Road
The Canarian Government have announced that the tender for the new dual carriage between Caldereta and the airport will go out to tender in the next few weeks.
The road will cost approximately 100 million euros for the 17 km link.

Strange and unusual Events when returning on the Tui flight last night (Arrived 19:00 hours from Birmingham).

Two National Police Officers sat in the little glass box. Usual glance at the Passport, then at what appeared to be at random, arrivals are handed a plain white sheet (eg. not Police or Island Government letterhead) with various question and a pen. The forms were completed as people stood at the glass box, so clearly there was very quickly a backlog of arrivals!!

A new VIP Lounge at Fuerteventura Airport
A new VIP Lounge has opened in the Departures area of Fuerteventura Airport, near Gates 3-5.

It's called Jable VIP lounge.

29.85€ for adults and 13.75€ for children for a maximum of 4 hours.

Lanzarote buses from ACE Airport to Playa Blanca
Someone I know is coming to Fuerte next Feb but is flying in to Arrecife (long story). Does anyone know if there is a bus service direct from the airport to Playa Blanca for the ferry? She doesn't drive, so that is not an option.

Airport Passenger Numbers in 2020
419,214 passengers (Arrivals & Departures) passed through the airport in January 2020. That is a 5.4% decrease compared to January 2019. The number of flights, 3635, was down 9.3%.

Lanzarote had a drop of 7.1% and Tenerife South 6.8% in the same month.
