New NIE
It's been a while since we updated our NIE's. Not much need as most people were quite happy with the ones we held, which still had the 3 month certificate expiry.
Over the previous years, we've made the trek over to Puerto Rosario, for the updates, and it's always taken at least 2 trips.
But our Ayuntamiento insisted we updated our NIE's, this week, whilst we were collecting new Empadronamiento's.
So, I may be giving you all old info here, but this is our experience today at Gran

NIE Application Fee
Anyone know the current fee for an NIE application with the EX-18 form? Managed to find fees for 2016 all the way to 2018, but not the current fee!
Also, anyone recent knowledge of getting someone (eg Solicitor, Gestor etc) to do this and what they charge.
PM if you prefer and I will post a summary in due course.
TIA,
Tom.

Print Shop near to National Police Office for NIEs
I'm taking a friend to the National
Police
Office for NIEs tomorrow morning. I understand that there is a Print Shop nearby that will complete the application form and copy all that needs copying (for a fee, of course).
Can anyone be a little bit more precise in the location of this nearby shop?
TIA,
Tom.

Applying for your NIE: How to
I have recently assisted a friend applying for her NIE and I thought it would be helpful to set out the process we followed, in case anyone else needs to do this process themselves. Before I begin, I have to thank various members of this forum for very helpful tips and hints, especially Tarmara (who is the fount of all knowledge on this site).
You can always ask a solicitor or Gestoria to make the application for you, but this is going to cost you between 75 and 100 euros!!

Getting an NIE number
Hi, hive mind.
Our lad (Irish passport) is staying with us and looking for work on the island. He has a work opportunity but needs an NIE number. So he is currently non-resident but will of course become resident if he is out with us for while. Our lawyer did ours for us so I don't really know the process.
Who can do an NIE for us, what docs are needed, and how long might it take? Any ideas folks?
TIA.
Bill
