A tunnel between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote!
#11
Even supposing it did eventually happen I for one would not want to use it. We are in an area of high seismicity for goodness sake! I wouldn't trust it to be constructed to any better standard than most stuff out here.

The channel tunnel cost £4.65 billion (equivalent to £12 billion today), 80 per cent more than expected. Construction took six years (1988-1994) & is 31.5 miles long, 23.5 of those miles under water. I can’t see the proposal for the Fuerte/Lanza tunnel as remotely viable. Anyway it is a known Earthquake (albeit generally small ones). I don’t think I would like to use it 😁😁
