Any Origo Mare Residents?

I too apologize for my mini rant-was a bit harsh,  but previously in another forum simple questions seemed to disintegrate into totally irrelevant squabbles

"The urban development complex located in the north of Fuerteventura, next to Majanicho, has been singled out by the European Commission.

The European Commission has sent an ultimatum to Spain on Thursday to repair the environmental damage caused by the construction of a hotel complex without environmental assessment in La Oliva, a protected area of Fuerteventura; a project for which Brussels initiated sanctions in 2017 and which will take to the Court of Justice of the EU if action is not taken within two months, Europa Press reports.

The notice takes the form of a reasoned opinion, the second phase of an infringement procedure, and gives the national authorities two months to "respond and take the necessary measures", according to the EU services, which add that otherwise the EU executive may bring the matter before the European Court of Justice.

In a press release, the Commission explains that it is asking Spain to "make good the damage to the environment and, in particular, to a Natura 2000 site of great importance for the conservation of rare bird species caused by the construction of a hotel complex in La Oliva".

Brussels has taken into account that the competent authorities approved the project in 2001 without having assessed its effects on the environment, despite this being an obligation under the European Habitats Directive, and regrets that they have gone ahead with the construction works even after the courts declared the project null and void in 2011.

The EU executive decided to open a sanctioning file for this in 2017, but in these years the Spanish authorities "have not fulfilled any of their commitments to remedy the environmental effects of the complex"."
