Young Italian resident in Fuerteventura confesses to drug trafficking to return to the island.
The young man living in Fuerteventura had gone to his country to settle issues related to his mother's inheritance
According to the Italian media Open Online, the young Italian with initials S.S. resident in Fuerteventura for a few years, arrested in Rome for drug trafficking and possession and with a return ticket to Fuerteventura this Three Kings Day, could have missed his flight if his case had gone to trial. A question that apparently has not happened.
The Carabinieri of Tor Bella Monaca found him in possession of several white wrappers, each containing 2.2 grams of pure cocaine. "He had a couple with him, another 13 were in a gallery and another pair were in the hands of a sixteen-year-old boy in his company," states the digital outlet.
At first, H.H. denied knowing the boy and claimed not to be a trafficker but a consumer, a question that changed today, in room 7 of the Court of Rome, after he was arrested in flagrante delicto.
At first he said, according to Open Online, "I was in the square, I had just ordered some sandwiches at McDonald's. I was smoking a pipe, crack cocaine and what they found came from the open wrappers. I was there when the Carabinieri arrived, I saw the boy run away and I was also stopped while they were chasing him," he told the judges.
He also had about 100 euros in cash with him, which he claimed to have withdrawn shortly before. He adamantly denies that he ever had an active role in the drug trade. Prosecutor Alessia Miele was not convinced by this version.
"In effect, a precautionary measure was requested for him: the obligation to remain in the province of Rome, without the possibility of returning to the Canary Islands, where he works as a waiter. An eventuality that alarmed the accused," explains the digital
To the point that, during the meeting in the council room, he reflected and finally opted for confession: "I lied, I apologize." The session ended with an 8-month plea agreement and a fine of 1,200 euros, with a suspended sentence (unless the crime is repeated). The young drug trafficker will be able to return to Fuerteventura on Three Kings Day.
