An Italian mobster arrested at the airport.
Agents of the National Police have arrested at the airport of Fuerteventura a 40-year-old man, of Italian nationality, for having an international judicial claim in force. The detainee had a search and arrest warrant for his extradition decreed by Italy. He was intercepted at Fuerteventura airport when he was about to catch a flight to leave the island.
The National Police was aware that a person who resided in the municipality of Pájara, had a search and arrest warrant for extradition, being the claimant body Italy for a crime of fraud and membership of a criminal organization, there being a final sentence of five years in prison.
The Police officers proceeded to arrest him when he was at the airport of Fuerteventura and was about to take a flight to leave the island, being placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority and decreeing, the Central Court of Instruction, his entry into prison for subsequent transfer to Italy.
