Best place for naturists to stay?
#1
With the closure of Gran Hotel Natura, I wonder where's a good place for naturists to stay.  GHN was great because you could be naked all day, and walk directly out on to the beach.

The naturist area at Magic Life isn't great.  The Monte Marina apartments don't appeal much - primarily because of the steps down to the beach (which isn't the nicest). There's Infiniti (never tried it) but it's in the middle of a built-up area.  We've stayed at VIK in Costa Calma, which has lovely private enclosed courtyards with sunbeds, bit it's not like being on the beach.

So where's best now for naturists?

Hi Bedouin, there are one or two villa complexes near the lagoon beach's of El Cotillo that might be suitable we stayed at Sunset Cotillo and ok not naturist complex but within yards of the gate you could be naked.

Past GHN on Thursday and saw work has started and is progressing not sure what it will reopen as though.

Talking of villa complexes, I've wondered whether the Bahiazul Villas complex in Corralejo might be OK for naturists.  The villas have individual pools, plus a hot tub on the roof terrace, I think.

We can’t rate El Cotillo highly enough. Great naturist friendly beaches, beautiful lagoons & pools, just enough restaurants to keep you occupied for a week. We do miss the ferret bar though which has sadly gone. It was our favourite spot for a pre dinner beer, there seems to be a lack of bars where you can just have a drink without eating. I know there’s the Toston, but we’re not fans.

It will be interesting to see what it becomes.  As a regular aparthotel-type place, it doesn't have much going for it, as it's a long way from the bright lights of Corralejo.  But as a niche business, eg naturist, it can be successful - as the previous operators demonstrated - with highish room rates and good levels of occupancy.

I agree there is a market out there and naturists are as discerning as others so a good quality business offering good service should be successful.

By the way I looked at Bahiazul Villas  on Google Earth and it looks like it will be hit or miss if you would be overlooked and therefore might offend when naked, our attitude at our villas is some discretion but if neighbours are looking in our back garden and see us naked sorry but you might not look again.

If you are happy with the fact that they are overpriced for their quality the Maravilla Apartments can be even better for naturists. Although they are not explicitly naturist they are totally nude friendly which means that you only need clothing when you go out to eat or shop.
I even use the reception office naked without any problems.

Got to disagree about the Monte Marina, we have had some really good holidays there.  Yes, it’s a climb down to the beach, and at the moment there are issues with vanishing sand, but compared to the beach directly in front of the GN, it's great.
Apartments are basic but spotless and the grounds with sauna and a small swimming pool are well looked after, providing shelter for windy days.
Minus side is that you are paying a buff premium for staying there

I should have added that most of the people at Maravilla are totally textile and occasionally go to great lengths to avoid the apartments where naturists are staying.
