All of them? No questions asked?

Hope you will never meet a person, thinking this way once you'll be the one, in need of help.

It's called economic migrants.

And no, after I have seen what it have done to my country I am not willing to help.

My countrys (Sweden) population is now made out of 20% of people that are not born here. And we've had a long history of high immigration numbers, so the amount of people that have roots in other countries are far more than 20%..

I mean.. come and have a look.. the amount of bombings here is like it is in Afghanistan.. (and no, I am not joking)

Thanks John, glad to see some "we're still human" comments.  Thumbs Up

You do understand the difference between migrants and refugees?

I  most certainly do hence the "I believe we need to investigate the circumstances first" comment you cannot have a one size fits all attitude to this issue and trust me I am no bleeding heart liberal, as people on here that know me will testify.

Plenty of our forum members are migrants who moved to Fuerteventura from different countries. I hope there's no day in the future when they will be send back to their country of origin.

Glad you've asked, I do know the difference. Are you sure you do too?

Plenty of our forum members are migrants who moved to Fuerteventura from different countries. I hope there's no day in the future when they will be send back to their country of origin.

There's many of refugees on the boats, arriving from the east. It is up to the authorities to decide if they're economic migrants or refugees. Not up to you, nor me, thankfully.

EDIT: Not a bleeding heart liberal neither.

To make out that brits (or whatever) purchasing real estate in the canaries to live there when they are retired is the same as economic migrants from north Africa is... let's say an unfair comparison.

I guess it would be a different attitude if they all stayed on the canaries, but as we can read they are shipped off to mainland Spain.

It's always easy to have a big heart and say "of course they should be let in" when you don't even have to live near them or deal with the consequences.

I did not want this to turn in to a debate really, I just posted what I thought should be done about the situation to stop them from coming.

Where did I say they should be let in? what I said was the one size fits all approach is wrong.
