Three caregivers arrested for the degrading treatment of one of the inmates of their care center.
Agents of the National Police of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria have arrested a woman and two men with no Police record as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of domestic violence and degrading treatment.
The National Police became aware of a complaint filed by the relatives of an inmate of an assistance center in the capital of Gran Canaria, in which he claimed that his son, who suffers from cerebral palsy, was allegedly being mistreated by his caregivers for a year.
A Police investigation was thus initiated, where the agents collected several medical reports where injuries such as bruises, lacerations in various parts of his body, a frightened attitude and weight loss on the part of the victim were reflected. In addition, an exhaustive investigation was carried out of all the documentation and incident reports carried out in the center where the caregivers who assisted the inmate in the different shifts were registered.
Each of the caretakers were interviewed by the agents and, with their statements together with the documentation investigated, it was possible to identify the three responsible for the degrading treatment suffered by the inmate.
These three persons were immediately arrested for the crimes of domestic violence and degrading treatment and placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
