Child poverty increases in the Canary Islands by 18%.

In this sense, in commemoration of Children's Day that is celebrated every November 20 with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of working every day for the welfare and development of children, in the manifesto read by the children representing the CAI seal claim, on behalf of all the children of the municipality, Two aspects that they consider fundamental: On the one hand, related to leisure and free time, children demand the opening of playgrounds in the municipality, in addition to adolescents also demanding to enjoy their own resources for them with a Youth House. Also, on the other hand, mental health is a factor that everyone equally considers improvable, since situations of mental disorders are pressing and, more, after the pandemic, so they consider it necessary to allocate more economic and personal resources to this matter in mental health.
Each year, an educational center is chosen to host this official act for Children's Day, being, on this occasion, held at the CEIP Pablo Neruda that, in addition to teachers and students, was also attended by the Councilor for Social Services and coordinator of the CAI project, Yanira Domínguez, who showed her sensitivity and support for girls and boys to have the opportunity to celebrate and claim their rights in days as today, and with the Councilor for Education, Eduardo Tarquis, who showed the exemplarity of girls and boys, always with "enthusiasm and enthusiasm".
From the City Council the collaboration of all primary schools is appreciated and, especially, the management team and teachers of CEIP Pablo Neruda, for their commitment and commitment to carry out this year this official act.
