The Civil Guard clarified a crime of animal abuse on the island of Fuerteventura.
SEPRONA became aware of the facts following a citizen complaint filed on September 12 at the Puerto del Rosario Post.
The Civil Guard immediately goes to check the facts denounced, observing from the outside of the perimeter closure of the property, the presence of a total of four dogs on the plot, of which three of them were in deplorable physical condition, with external parasitic infestation, cachexia and in one of them, a large mass in the testicular area of tumor aspect.
The dogs that were in the building were a male German doge and another female which had a high external parasitic load, highlighting the presence of pulps and especially ticks, these last in the pinna, limbs and around the eyes, cachexia of the animal, the rachis and costal areas are excessively evidenced and presence of pressure calluses in elbows, being a consequence d the reaction of protection of the skin of the areas of the body in constant direct contact with hard surfaces.
And a French buldog mongrel that had a high parasitic load, evidence of excessive thinness and the presence of large testicular tumor mass equivalent to 20% of the total volume of the animal, with areas of depigmentation and abrasion in the ventral area of it.
Therefore, the Civil Guard identifies the owner of the dogs to inform if the dogs are being treated for the pathologies they apparently present, so the owner states that she lacks income and means for that purpose, putting the life of the dog in serious danger in case of not proceeding to its immediate treatment.
Finally, the owner of the three dogs is informed that they will be deposited cautiously in the facilities of the municipal kennel of Puerto del Rosario, in order to preserve physical integrity, provide immediate
veterinary assistance, as well as be subjected to exploration by a technician-veterinarian.
