Craft market in Tetir
#41
Wow! How busy was this today! Great to see, hope the stall holders did loads of business - I certainly opened my purse a few times! Bought fruit and veg, not cheap but local grown. Bought 2 fruit trees. Friends bought a selection of stuff: bread, cakes, fruit, veg and cactus and we all visited the café as well.
COVID precautions in place: queue to get in which just kept getting longer and longer. Everyone had to give Name, NIE or Passport number, and phone number, so they had contact details if there was an infection outbreak. Temps taken, gel for hands. A few regular stalls missing but some new ones there as well. No tasters.
A selection of pics from the market and walking to and fro the car:

I went to Tetir market on the 9th, couldn't post pics until now as internet has been so dire  Sad
It was very busy again, same COVID controls as before. A few new stalls, some old favourites missing. Random pics:

Unfortunately I went late in the morning and the queue was far too long, not even at Selfridges for the Xmas sales. I carried on driving to El Cotillo for a walk on the beach. Quite a few people over there as well, but no queue.

I went to the market last Sunday. Still strict COVID controls in place. If you have a phone with a QR code reader you can scan a code at the entrance and fill in your details and submit them instead of queueing to have your details recorded manually. I'm not sure if there were a lot less people this time or the QR code system did it's job - the queues didn't look nearly as long this time.

I bought some Mojo Platano - interesting taste, very hot but I can still taste the banana! And from Agrayco plant stall I got another red banana plant and some strands of Spanish Moss (a trailing Tillandsia) - first time I've seen it for sale anywhere on the island, very happy to add it to my Tilly collection in the trees!

Random pics from the day, especially what I saw growing in the gardens. Highlight for me was an enormous cactus plant that I spotted when driving out of the village. Two storeys high and covered in buds. I parked up and went back for a closer look and some pics. The guy appeared in the garden and we chatted about it for a few minutes. The blooms come out at night and are very similar to the Pitahaya.
