Cross Island Walk
#1
I believe there is a walk from Costa Calma across the narrowest part of the island to La Pared. Measuring it on Maps it appears to be about 4.5 miles. Has anyone done the walk? I’m just trying to ascertain what the terrain is like and roughly how difficult the walk is. Also if there is more than one bar where we can get food and a drink. Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks.

We have done it,but I believe the motorway now has to be circumnavigated!
It is an easy flat walk look out for the "houbaras" funny mini emus.also egyptian vultures high up looking south.
Take food and LOTS of water.when we did it only the Hotel had amenities and that meant extra walking.
Suggest go early morning before any heat.
Its worth it to say you did it.

Thanks for your reply. How long did it take you and is my 4.5 mile estimation correct?

Thanks again. I'm clearly going to have to look into the motorway hazard. Gone are the days when we got up and went and didn't have to contemplate any complications, we just dealt with them. If anyone has any information how the motorway might be negotiated I would be very grateful.

I did that walk from Costa Calma to La Pared a while back, and it was a nice experience! The path is mostly flat but does get a bit rocky in some areas, so I’d definitely recommend wearing sturdy shoes. It took me about 1.5 to 2 hours to get there, and I remember it being pretty chill. There are a couple of bars in La Pared where you can grab food and drinks, but just keep an eye on their hours since they can be a bit inconsistent.
