E gates at most of Europe are not open for UK citizens to use, just EU passport holders.
Spain has opened E-gates to UK passport holders. I know this works on the main land, but the Islands always seem to like to make up their own rules.
I am about to fly next week from Fuerteventura airport & I am a UK passport holder. Has anyone used the airport on a UK passport recently & been able to use the E-gates?

Hi
I flew home from Fuerte to the UK yesterday afternoon and all the e-gates to access the "B" departure gates had no entry signs on them.
We had to wait for a "Border guard / Policeman" to open up his desk to check the passports. As far as I know it was only flights to the UK that were using those gates, but a Binter flight left from that area ,I don't know how the passengers had accessed that gate but an inter-island flight might have different arrangements, so I cant say if Spanish or other nationals were able to use them, I didn't see anyone try while I was waiting for the flight.

The last link says that e gates are being used at busiest airports. Gran Canary is on the list of places where UK passport holders can use E gates.
Seems like Fuerteventura is considered not a busy airport, hence why Egates are not open to UK passport holders.
Hoping that Fuerteventura will at some point allow Egates to be used for UK passengers.
