Tardis great time lapse photo / video what sort of camera did you do it on and  how ?

Equipment:

Canon 800D DSLR camera

Canon EF-S 55-250 mm f/4-5.6 IS STM zoom lens

Sturdy tripod

Fully charged camera battery or a mains adaptor 

Long mains extension

Alternatively, time-lapse apps are available for smartphones & tablets
 

Day 1

Look for a pristine flower for your subject

Make a note at what time it starts opening and when it’s fully open.  
 

Day 2

Set up the camera and frame the shot

Switch off lens image stabilisation.

The Canon 800D allows you to make a time-lapse video within the camera.  Other cameras might require you to take individual photos and assemble them together in a video editing program.

For the orange flower time-lapse, I selected taking a photo every 15 seconds for 1.5 hours (360 photos).

In camera settings I used aperture priority at f16 and auto ISO. I set the camera to adjust exposure for every frame.

Press record and leave for 1.5 hours.  

All being well, you should have a time-lapse video.

When I did a bulk cut of my basil on 17/4 I put half a dozen stalks in water in the kitchen for everyday use. I went to use the last one today but decided to plant it instead for continued use in the kitchen, saves walking outside when I want a fresh leaf  :



Couple of plants that made me smile today:

 

and Happy Plants delivered a load of substrate so I can get some tubs and pots planted up over the next few days .
