A similar thing works on Google Earth.
Bottom right edge of the screen shows position, elevation, eye altitude.
It works in Streetview as well, so you can measure heights of buildings etc, too. Hours of fun!
Follow along some airfield runways and see the humps.

I need a wet suit and webbed feet.  Elevation in Caleta 1 metre and in the UK 4metres!!!

I just did the test a second time and it told me in Caleta it was 10metres!!!  ??  Not sure now although I am more confident it is 10 metres!

Thanks for tips, works in both original link and Google Earth and they match  house in Windermere 71mts and villa on Fuerteventura Golf 13mts.

Just a thought. All that sand between El Cotillo and La Oliva with all the fossilised sea creatures in it. It didn't just fall out the sky...

A friend who lives up Chipmonk Mountain Caleta when digging her garden found a rock with lots of shells embedded in it also she walked to the top of the hill and found lots of shells .

I am sure in the past a Tsunami Wave must have hit the island .

With the increase in activity on La Palma it may be time to reassess your height above sea level if you have moved, or for new members that might not have seen this thread. The various models of a potential tsunami that I have been watching again seem to average Fuerte receiving waves of between 100 and 150M within 5 mins of a major landslide on Cumbre Vieja. Okay, the chance of this happening in our lifetime is pretty tiny, but, it will probably happen at some time, and the activity at the moment is the sort of precursor .......
