Holiday rental insurance
#1
Please could anyone recommend where I can purchase holiday rental insurance from as I'm told it's a requirement to get a VV license.

While I'm on the subject of insurance, does Spain have the equivalent of gocompare, moneysupermarket etc price comparison for insurance, mobile boradband etc. as I never like to pay too much for insurance  Wink   This forum is so helpful by the way....

Not found a Spanish version of gocompare, just wish there was.

For insurance, I use Direct Line, or Linea Directa. All done in English and much cheaper than my previous insurances.

Hello Tom, did you ever had an issue with your house or apartment and if so, how did this online company reply, how do they work?

Our experience is that online companies are very difficult to reach, hardly people involved to answer questions for help or when things go bad, like the company to fix things does not show up and nobody to be contacted, unless you want to be in a phone queue for hours with Madrid.

That's why we have Liberty in Corralejo, but the company in Fuerteventura (or Spain) is since April taken over by a Spanish company. Fingers crossed they do their job as good as the English people who had the office.

Never had any issues with Direct Line. Had issues with home insurance and car insurance and they were dealt with very promptly by a named English speaking person.

Tom.

We second Toms's support of direct line we have been with them for nearly 10 years and have had a couple of incidents which were dealt with very efficiently.

Thank you Tom and John, that is good to know! I'll give it a go for the new company that took over Liberty, otherwise your experiences are important to notice, if it's going to be trouble or too expensive, I might give it a try as well. Good one.
