I made an online appointment to go to INSS. Received a text confirmation on my phone, checked date and time were correct, AOK. What I didn't check was the address provided!
I arrived at the office near the port this morning only to be told I didn't have an appointment there, I was probably meant to be at the 'new' office! This turned out to be in the backstreets above and behind Trafico: 32 Calle Galicia. Hot footed it to there.
I spent half an hour with a young lady who spent most of the time on the phone to someone else trying to resolve my problem. Eventually she said she couldn't do it, I needed to go to the office near the port! She phoned ahead so I wouldn't need an appointment there.
Hot footed back to office near port. Spent half an hour with a guy there who spent most of the time on the phone ....... eventually he said," we don't do that, you do it yourself online!" Gave me the website adddress.
Came home and spent 3 hours trying to get sorted, numerous codes sent to my email, forms completed, photos taken and uploaded. Now fingers crossed that it gets accepted. What a palaver!
Through all of this I had a Spanish lady with me to translate.
