From Radio Sintonia:

Participation is opened for residents in Spain to opt for the La Palma Bonds. People over 18 interested in benefiting from this campaign and get 250 euros to spend on Isla Bonita can register on page www.bonolapalma.com. The draw before a notary for the first 4,000 bonuses will be held on Wednesday, March 2.

The Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the public company Turismo de Islas Canarias, has opened today the registration period for residents in Spain to participate in the La Palma Tourist Bonds program. This initiative, co-financed together with the Secretary of State for Tourism for a total value of 6.6 million euros, aims to attract tourists to Isla Bonita and thus reactivate the local economic fabric, strongly damaged after the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano.

Between the months of March and Septemberseven draws will be held before a notary so that residents in Spain over 18 years of age can opt for 20,000 bonds of 250 euros each. The aforementioned draws will take place on the first Wednesday of each month among all participants who have registered and have not previously won. That is, once the person has enrolled, their participation will be active until the end of the program, without the need to register again.

The Minister of Tourism, Yaiza Castilla, is convinced that citizens will join this strategy. "We are sure that the social interest that the eruption aroused towards La Palma, both among the Canarian residents and among those of the peninsula, will be transformed into a significant arrival of tourists to the island, which together with the rest of the aid put in place will allow us to move towards total economic recovery", assures Castilla.

The draw for the first 4,000 vouchers will take place next Wednesday, March 2, and all those Spanish residents over 18 who want to participate must register on the website www.bonolapalma.com.

During the 24 hours after the draw, Turismo de Canarias will contact the winners by email, in addition to the results can also be consulted through the website, and the beneficiaries will have four months to enjoy the bonus.

The 250 euros will consist of a virtual prepaid Visa card that can be consumed in all companies that are based in La Palma and that are registered in the General Tourist Registry in the categories of accommodation, catering, tourism activities companies, active tourism and cetacean observation, provided that they have previously adhered to the program.
For the doubts that may arise during the process, Turismo de Canarias has enabled the Tourist Voucher Service, with the telephone number 828 008002, which can be called from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Canarian time), as well as the email hola@bonolapalma.com.

Noticias:

A photo from 400 kilometers high of the Volcano of La Palma wins the NASA contest.

Astronaut Joshua Stevens' photo was taken from the International Space Station and is the best photo of Earth from space in 2021.

An image of the eruption of the volcano in Cumbre Vieja, in La Palma, has won the contest for best terrestrial photo of the year in the contest organized by NASA, by winning in the final to a snapshot of the Kalahari desert.

It is the third time in this decade that a photo of the Canary Islands has been taken with this award: in 2013 for an image of the underwater volcano Tagoro, in El Hierro, and in 2014 for one of the archipelago in which the islands seem to sail over the ocean by the action of the trade winds over the sea. The winning photo of the 2021 contest was taken on October 4 by astronaut Thomas Pesquet aboard the International Space Station.

In it you can see an intense column of black smoke that comes out of the Cumbre Vieja volcano and ascends several hundred meters, making its way between two banks of clouds.

As if it were a knockout championship, the photo of La Palma was overcoming several phases in which images of Southern California were measured under a blanket of clouds, of the plume smoke and ash on Mount Etna, and of the eruption of a volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula, in Iceland.

In the semifinals she was measured, and came out the winner of the confrontation, with a photo of the formation of ice on the water on the Antarctic continent, and in the final, she had as a rival a photo of the Kalahari desert. A total of 32 photographs of the Earth competed in nasa's contest.
