To complement Gone Fishing's post:
THE COTILLO LABELLINTO BY WOLF PATTON
IT IS BORN 3 KM FROM THE COAST OF COTILLO, ON THE ISLAND OF FUERTEVENTURA, CANARY ISLANDS, THE Labyrinth OF WOLF PATTON.
BORN IN GERMANY, AS A MUSICIAN, WOLF, AFTER PARTICIPATING IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE NETHERLANDS, IN 1999, BEGINS TO BUILD HIS Labyrinth, MADE ENTIRELY OF STONE.
The labyrinths have the characteristic of standardized dimensions and were fixed in time. In general, most of them reproduce the characteristics of Christian labyrinths, in the shape of a cross.
Patton, instead, influenced by the Gothic labyrinths and inspired in particular by the Labyrinth of Chartres Cathedral, took more than two months to create one, which has a circular shape, with the "sun" in the center and 8 rays of exterior expansion.
The Labyrinth, extends for 3km long with a wide circle; To complete the tour, it takes about 40 minutes.
There is a well-defined logic, you just have to follow the path until you reach the exact center.
The most interesting question that has intrigued many visitors is the connection that the Labyrinth has with the human psyche.
In fact, through it, they allow both areas of the brain. This happens because the Labyrinth is constructed voluntarily with the same number of turns to the right and to the left, just in order to activate and work equally the two cerebral hemispheres.
Always the Labyrinth symbolizes an inner journey through which the spirit can evolve and rise to a higher level.
Art, in all its forms, has always been synonymous with analyzing, with personal and subjective interpretations of the various concepts: Wolf Patton was able to fully express the reality of the language of the human psyche, the nature of the soul and the ambiguities of the unconscious.
In the Labyrinth, the artist does not need the gaze of the world, darkness is not the absence of light, but something more tangible, palpable, is constantly experiencing, is consciousness, revelation, in short, is the "irresistible truth" of art.
In fact, once you get to the exit, the Cotillo Labyrinth will not leave you indifferent.
The relaxing atmosphere, the fresh air, the sound of the waves and the breeze of the wind will accompany us on this fantastic journey, in the rediscovery of nature and our very being.
