Longer apartment stays how is cleaning handled?

Hi,

I've noticed there seems to be less hotel availability in the south than the past. OTOH a huge increase in the number of apartments. What I'm wondering is how are things like sheet changes and cleaning handled in a multi week stay?

I can handle changing them but I'd rather not do the laundry

Over numerous years we have stayed in Appartments/Villas, all in the north, for various periods from 3, 4, 5 weeks. Some have given us fresh linen weekly, some not at all. In our experience it seems to depend on what the owners policy is. Perhaps best to check before renting if your not prepared to launder or if change not offered use a launderette for a service wash. I know these are fairly short stays but apply to longer periods. Cleaning has only ever been offered once and that was linen change and quick wipe around bathrooms and quick mop round floors. For longer stays, I always message the host right after booking and ask for a mid-stay clean. Most are happy to arrange it for a small fee. Has anyone tried asking for a linen swap instead of a full clean?

anyway, I always message the host directly to ask about their cleaning schedule before booking. Service washes at a launderette can fill gaps.
