Markets
#11
I visited the PDR produce market today, in search of salt. About the same number of stalls as a year ago, but more  customers, and a queue at one vegetable stall. About six selling veggies, 2 or 3 with cheeses, one with what looked like honey, one with baked goods and one with eggs.

One stall selling “Sal de Fuerteventura” in a presentation paper bag/sack 110g for 4€. No thanks!

Hopped on the 3 bus to Las Salinas (€1.65). Got off, bought 2 kilos @ €6/kilo (down from €7 last time) and got back the same bus for the return trip.

A friend visited the Corralejo Saturday market at the same time. 4 stalls, herbs, potatoes, veggies and something else I’ve forgotten.

Oh, the PDR market also had a fish stall, fresh, probably local but not well presented and not a huge selection

To put it into context, this market rarely gets more than one customer at a time and is tiny. Maybe one stallholder, or two at busy times.

I understand the point they are making that it allows local farmers to sell their produce, but so does Padilla and the local mini-mart.

Local farmers are finding ways to reach their customers, including offering home delivery, and one who sells direct from his vehicle!

I've been told that the monthly Sunday morning market in Tindaya is taking place this Sunday.
