The short answer is no, This morning I was asked to validate just before payment section this afternoon right at the beginning, I have spoken to some one who is a tad more savvy than me, and he suggests that you are not logging in first, i always log in with my google account, trust this helps.

Definitely logging in. I have spoken to them on webchat and fired e-mails back and forth all day. They say that is their system for security. End of. Looking at another company but their rate isn't quite as good.

When you say 'validate' I take it that it wasn't a 'live' validation - like taking a selfie?

I’ve not read back over this whole thread, but I note that some members have had verification issues with Wise? I transfer money each month to my Spanish bank via Wise, and as a rule I am never asked to take any additional actions to verify. Maybe one transaction in ten I am asked to enter a code sent to my mobile, otherwise the whole transaction is instantaneous. However, when I last transferred a significantly larger sum, an unusual transaction for me, I was asked for additional ID verification - a scan of my passport, as I recall. The joy of Wise is that you can call them and speak to a real live person in the UK, which I did, and she explained the whys and wherefores. Don’t give up, do speak with them if you have a problem!

I have contacted them by webchat and e-mail and they are adamant that I have to comply with their verification process, which I can't, as I explained above.

Very much the same experience, was originally never asked to validate, but of late every 8/10 transactions, I never transfer regularly just when we need it and i am assuming I was a asked to verify both transactions yesterday was because I had made two on the same day. can you not photograph your passport and take a selfie from your phone and send both my SMS to them?

Thanks for the offer.
I have this morning received an e-mail from Wise saying that they've confirmed my personal documents. I wonder if that has been the problem all along - I will try later to see.

So, that WAS the problem! Transfer now gone through OK. Why on earth didn't their system flag that up?
And here is a funny thing - for all their re-branding - THEIR bank account is still in the name of Transferwise!
I suppose it earned someone a few bob to re-brand and probably save some taxes.
