Morro Jable Marina
#1
Noticias:

In November the works of the marina of Morro Jable begin.

The Minister of the Government announced this morning in parliament that the works will cost a total of 8.5 million euros.

Sebastian Franquiz, Minister of Public Works, Transport and Housing of the Government of the Canary Islands, explained today in the Parliament of the Canary Islands that it has been possible to reactivate the project to build a new sports dock in the port of Morro Jable.

The project in which 8.5 million euros are going to be invested and which was presented 8 years ago will begin in a few weeks, in view of the fact that the concessionaire company has entered the 562 thousand euros as a mandatory deposit to carry out the work.

The project, awarded by Puertos Canarios to the company Puerto Calero S.L involves the concession of 64,180 m2 to that company, which would build the sports dock, and will be in charge of its operation for the next twenty-five years. The new space will house 290 new moorings and 20 commercial premises of 1,800 m2.

A project, which aims to be a boost for the local economy. In fact, once the works are finished, it is expected that "Marina Jandía" will directly employ twelve workers from the municipality of Pájara. In addition, Puerto Calero has closed collaboration agreements with the Club Náutico Península de Jandía, the Fishermen's Guild of MorroJable and the Red Cross to make their activities compatible and to have an impact on the benefit of all entities.

The project called Marina Jandía is a commitment to provide facilities dedicated to sports boats and commercial area, in the line of Puerto Calero or Marina Rubicón in Lanzarote.

In this sense, we have also tried to carry out a project that aims to reduce the impact of the carbon footprint and improve waste management both in the construction and in the operation of the new sports marina".

The Marina Jandía project will have 2,000 square meters for commercial development with about twenty premises for trade and restoration.

Radio Sintonia:

Morro Jable presents the new project of its marina.

The president of the Canary Islands. Ángel Víctor Torres, together with the Minister of Public Works, Transport and Housing of the Government of the Canary Islands, Sebastián Franquis, attended today (Friday, November 11, 2022) the presentation of thenew sports dock project for the port of Morro Jable, in the municipality of Pájara, called Marina Jandía, a project in which the concessionaire company, Calero Marinas, will invest 12 million euros in the coming months with the intention of being able to inaugurate it in November 2024.

[align=justify]The president of the Canary Islands stressed the importance that, in a few weeks, the works of the first large marina of Fuerteventura begin, highlighting that it is a milestone for the future of Fuerteventura, something "that is achieved after nine years of waiting". The head of the Executive stressed that this is a "claimed, necessary and fair" work, and has gone ahead despite the difficulties, "because I believe that public officials must be there to project future policies, but also to solve problems that appear on a day-to-day basis."

[align=justify][size=small]President Torres valued the creation of this new marina as a tool aimed at enhancing the tourist offer of Pájara and the entire south of Fuerteventura, and recalled that it has been the Ministry directed by Sebastián Franquis, through the public company Puertos Canarios, which has promoted this project in the last year and a half after going through several vicissitudes after the concession was awarded in 2014.

[align=justify][size=small][font=Verdana, BlinkMacSystemFont, -apple-system,]After several efforts, Public Works, Transport and Housing has managed to reactivate the construction project of this sports dock in the port of Morro Jable, which includes the creation of about 300 moorings for sports boats, as well as a commercial and leisure area.

[align=justify][size=small][color=#222222][font=Verdana, BlinkMacSystemFont, -apple-system,]For his part, the counselor Franquis said that, after overcoming the problems with which this project was found when arriving at the Ministry, now, after eight years, it becomes a reality. "The commitments that we had acquired from the Government with this project, and those that the concessionaire had acquired with the Ministry itself, have now been fulfilled," said Franquis.

[align=justify][size=small][color=#222222][font=Verdana, BlinkMacSystemFont, -apple-system,]The Minister said that "we are facing the beginning of works that are already a reality in Pájara, the municipality with the largest coastline in Spain, a project that represents a serious commitment to quality and excellence in the tourism sector on the island of Fuerteventura ".

[align=justify][size=small][color=#222222][font=Verdana, BlinkMacSystemFont, -apple-system,]The concessionaire has updated the project improving its environmental sustainability. It is about reducing the impact of the carbon footprint and improving waste management both in the construction and operation of the new marina.
[color=#111111][font=Roboto, sans-serif][size=small][color=#222222][font=Verdana, BlinkMacSystemFont, -apple-system,][color=#000000]The Marina Jandía project has a total area of 64,180 square meters and capacity for 290 moorings of boats with a length between 6 and 35 meters. On land surface, it will have 2,000 square meters for commercial development. It also has about twenty premises for this economic segment, including four restaurants and a beach club.
