Hi all, we are visiting fuerteventura mid Sept for the first time, staying in jandia and really looking forward to experiencing the beaches around that area. We are a couple in are 40s and have visited maspalomas a few times now and really enjoy being naked in the sun.
The pictures of the beaches in fuerteventura have enticed us to visit the island. Could anyone give us some advice on best areas to visit while we are there please?
We would love to chat to other naturists on the beach's, is this something that happens often or do people normally keep themselves to themselves?
We would love to spend a few hours sunbathing and walking along the coast and then fine a spot to have some refreshments and people watch for a while. Are there any bars along the coast in that area?
Look forward to any advice that people may have.
Thanks GB
Hi GB
'Jandia' is more an area, than a town. Usually it refers to the strip between the town of Moro Jable and the AI hotels to the North. Are you planning to hire a car, I would recommend it. Generally, for nude walking along the beach, the rule of thumb is anywhere North of the lighthouse until you reach Costa Calma. You would be dead from heat exhaustion long before that!
We use the beach at Esquinzo to the north below the Robinson Hotel. Nice beach with good sea access and an option of sun beds for comfort, or a stone circle if you care to rough it. There is a beach bar a few min walk away. As for chatting with others, that would depend how fluent in German you are, although you may find the odd Brits. What the area is like now, I have no idea due to COVID.
If you have a car, a trip to the lagoons at El Cotillo is worth it, they are a bit remote from the town, so take water etc.
Remember that there are no designated naturist beaches on Fuerteventura. In theory, all are clothes optional, but it tends to be by convention, time of year and who gets there first. In the South, there is room for everyone

Thanks for all the info MA very helpful. We tend to rough it when we sunbathe and find a slightly less crowded section of the beach, we find the sunbed areas a bit of a squeeze. We have talked about the option of a car and I think that this would be a good idea. The lagoons are on our list to visit.

I think you’ll find that personal space will not be a problem in Jandia, as mentioned it attracts a large German clientele so language may be an issue but that wouldn’t bother us, we’ve rented sun beds on the beach in Moro Jable, everyone around us was German, there is always someone who has English & we’ve found them friendly , it certainly won’t have the edgyness that Maspalomas is infamous for, it’s very chilled & relaxed
Weather is September is usually great, my preferred time to visit Fuerte , supposed be be there late September but had to push it out to late October
No problem GB
If you are doing the lagoons, sus out the tide times. Aim to be there around high tide, as the smaller interesting lagoons empty at low tide. A pair of neoprene shoes is a good idea, unless your feet are made from leather. The west coast mountain route is really interesting with villages an viewpoints. If speed and time at the beach is your priority, the East coast FV1 is your best bet.
If you are 'feeling lucky' and have scant regard for hire car rules. A trip to Cofete is a blast. Awesome beach to walk on, but don’t be tempted to swim, as Ryanair charge extra for body bags. There is a nice little beach on the other side of the peninsular called Playa Juan Gomez, hard to find but was signposted last time that I went. Also it is a potential hire car wrecker.
We have found that a hire car pays for its self if you take off transfer fees, taxis to town and a couple of trips around the island. Rent and drop off at the airport. Avoid Gold car and Orlando. We use Plus car, but local firms like CI car and Pay less are ok.
Enjoy

Sotavento is my favourite beach on Fuerteventura. Lovely sand, gentle slope into the water, mainly naturist.
Just a bit further south is Mal Nombre, which has sunbeds and a good beach bar. Again, naturist on the furthest sunbeds.

Same here. The sun beds just below the Robinson get some shelter from the wind and there is a beach bar not too far away. Leaving your stuff is not a problem, as the Germans keep an eye on things. On one of our first visits, we returned from a liquid lunch, to find our towels neatly folded on the beds with a sturdy rock on each.
The area has good access to the sea for swimming, but can be prone to a loss of sand under certain conditions. It always comes back but you may be unlucky.
