The technician actually called me at 1740 with "secret" identity code agreed at my last conversation.
He had my paperwork in front of him,we went through it no problems arose.
He promised me a nice Christmas present.
After 10 months of banging my head, at last finally, talking to the right person all sorted in about 10 mins.
I am not counting my chickens but it did seem positive.

We have used the AT renta web system and found after looking for problems that were not there it is a very good and simple system.you can go back and forth without committing anything.
Assuming that your own set up is simple.
eg you do not have civil service type pension,no rental income from anywhere etc
Our only niggle was sorting which annuities are annuities for the Spanish system
We have the auto google translate and 99% of the fiscal terminology seem to translate well,you just need to find it what was applicable.
Renta web even put in the extra age allowance for the canaries automatically!
