Well St Michael  can use my £174 unused fare from last Sat towards his expenses. Hope it makes him feel better.

It appears EasyJet has cancelled all flights back to the UK until 13th of February. Ryanair has done something similar, though a couple of flights are currently still scheduled in January (Liverpool 16th Jan, Stansted 18th Jan).

I'm keeping an eye on this as at some stage we'll have to return to the UK! Our family of four were due to travel back to London on the 5th of January, but when Boris announced Lockdown on the 4th then we decided to stay here for the time being. We got really lucky with the timing there   Cool

Manchester has four flights still showing in mid Feb but everything else is cancelled until the end of March. The last East Mids plane was last Saturday.

Obviously PCR type tests will be required from 4am on Friday morning until who knows when....

Same for us, three return (EasyJet) flights cancelled.
Would love to stay until March but things need to be done back in UK.
It's looking like we will have to fly back (to Gatwick) from Lanzarote
instead.

For what it’s worth I think the few RA flights that haven’t been cancelled will likely go ahead. If not they would have surely been pulled by now. So if any of those suit you then that could be an option.

This 72 hour delay in implementing testing before departure to the UK means RA’s Saturday flight to Liverpool will now not require tests so could well be a good option for some.

But it doesn’t help Monday’s flight to Stansted, and then that’s it for RA until ....

Just had a cancellation email from EasyJet for a February flight back to London. Appears that EasyJet has cancelled all flights in February from Fuerte to the UK; first flight back with EasyJet is now the 1st of March.

What's quite nice though is that I can rebook for free on any EasyJet flight - so I'll rebook for flights from London to Fuerte next Xmas. These flights are currently expensive if they were to be bought cash (£842 for family of 4), while I only paid peanuts (€78 for family of 4) for the flight that just got cancelled!  Cool  If you need peak time flights with EasyJet then it's arguably worth speculating in buying some really cheap flights that you think will be cancelled then rebook them without further charge to the expensive peak ones that you need...

We still need flights back to the UK at some stage though when depends on Boris!

Be careful there. My understanding is that you can rebook/change your flights free of charge (admin charge) but you have to pay the difference if the new flight is more expensive. You don't get refunded if the new flights are cheaper.

You're quite right to point this out - there are basically two distinct scenarios:

1) EasyJet cancels your flight (my scenario). You then get to change your flight for free WITHOUT having to pay any fare difference. You can even change origin/destination - for example I recently change a cancelled flight from Fuerte to London to London-Fuerte at a future date. I've done this a few times now during the pandemic.

2) You yourself decide to change your flight (that has not been cancelled by EasyJet). If you do this more than 14 days in advance then there is no fee for changing your flight, but as Tamara points out you then have to pay the fare difference if applicable.
