Revolut - possibly the best card to use in Fuerteventura

Done that as well. Endesa account online will not accept the Revolut account details so can’t change over 😡 will pop into the council in Antigua & see what they say when I am out but not much good unless I can do them all. The other one is CAAF & not having any great hopes about that one with their present & past record, lol

Contacted Endesa & they have done/or are doing directly. Will see if it works 🤔🤔 Good if it does though 😁 Next step is IBI & Basura with Antigua Ayunamiento. But I think I will wait until the Endesa is proved to work first 🤣😂

I love this card, I have used it for the first time this trip, the exchange rate is close to the commercial rate even for a few euros, I have been topping up each day in £s then convert immediately to euros, takes seconds to do so, will continue to do this. Transfers are very quick too. You get alerts each time you spend on the card. Thank you forum for bringing this card to my attention. Other than carrying some small change and those restaurants that are cash only of course, this card is pretty much all you need.😊😊😊

I can confirm that the BanciaMarch ATM half way down Av. Alcalde Juan Ramón Soto Morales on the right (set in a shop front) does give out Money from Revolut with no charge, I drew out last week.
Stay away from Santander though !! I was stung for a 5€ charge last year, never again !!

Is the rate better with Revolut than Starling? They take 0.4% commision on Starling

Still no sign of my 'free' card offer. Did everyone else pay?

I'm thinking of trying Revolut, as twice I have paid high exchange rates on local purchases using Starling w/o my choice!

Thanks, Sam. I always ask for charge to be made in euros. But been caught twice on contactless where the retailers' bank have given no choice. Not Starling's fault, but doesn't ever happen on my Banca March.

Hi Archer, is it possibly because you have both £’s & €’s on your card ? I only ever have €’s (I only use it in euroland) so I only ever top up in £’s as required & immediately exchange to €’s. I use contactless all the time & never have an issue but as I say, no other choice but €’s as that’s all that’s on it.  If you have both, it may take the card set up currency as first choice 🤔🤔

Thanks, that may be the case as I have balances in both GBD and euros. But, I didn't make any changes on the app and made 2 small contactless purchases. Both gave no choice, but one used the retailers rate. The other the Mastercard rate. This happened again so I am at a loss as to why.

I think I will stop using contactless, and see if that makes a difference. Starling say the retailer is breaking the rules

Thanks
