Rose Wines available in Aldi
#1
Hi Fuerte Chums
I am new to this Forum and was hoping for a bit of info.
I’m on my way over to spend Christmas on the rock and being partial to a glass or five of Rosado I was hoping someone could tell me what the selection is like in Aldi. I don’t like the cheap stuff that tastes like bubble gum mixed in a glass of water and i usually pay between €5-10 a bottle.
If any Aldi shoppers or fellow Rose drinkers could possibly post a photo of the Rose wines available or let me know the names of these wines I’d be ever so grateful.
Cheers!

Aldi shoppers short on the ground here, as they only arrived on the island this year.  They have plans for several stores in the future, but right now I think there are very few. New one opened in Puerto last week and there might be another a bit further south, but I'm not sure (as I'm in the north).

Lidl have a reasonable range and they have more stores on the island.

Personally, I only buy wine in mercadona, and ALWAYS red!

Tom.

Thanks for your reply. I got quite excited to discover there was now an Aldi on the island as I’ve tried their wines on the Spanish mainland and was fairly impressed. Lidl & Mercadona only sell ‘Bubblegum’ Rose, Hipedino sell a couple of good Rose’s (Vina Sol probably the best) but I’m curious what Aldi might stock and if it’s anything like on the mainland. I’m also partial to a glass of Rose Cava too so it anyone has any Aldi recommendations I’d be grateful.

I've enjoyed Freizenet Cordon Rosado Brut in the past but don't claim to be in any way an expert just know what I like. You might want to give it a try. Sure one of the locals will tell you where you can get it but think I got it in HiperDino.

I'm also partial to a glass (or five) of rose but have to say Aldi's offering is pretty poor I'm afraid (at least to my taste). HiperDino or Mercadona better.

Ah, that’s a shame. On the Spanish Mainland Aldi had a pretty decent selection of Rose and Red Wine. They even had a drinkable Rose Cava that’s hard to find anywhere.
I did suspect Canarian Aldi wouldn’t stock the same as Mainland Aldi
Just to add that El Grifo in Lanzarote make a superb Rose called Lagrima. Is goes down like a dream but the price is a nightmare. Last years vintage was €13 a bottle. 2022 Vintage is hinted to be €17 That  said, it’s limited supply and will no doubt sell out by Christmas.
