State of emergency - Limited freedom of movement

Pedro Sanchez has said today that if all goes well this week with adults walking out with children, and there is not a rise in infections, then everyone will be allowed out to walk and exercise from May 2nd.

That's not giving a lot of time for any infections caused by that easing to show up! I'm as eager to get back to normality as anyone, but there simply will not be time enough to know whether or not allowing people out with their kids will increase infections as a lot of infections won't show up by May 2nd. 

I don't actually think it will cause a huge increase, not as long as people follow the distancing measures, but if they're counting on this as a test run, they're not giving nearly enough time to see the results. 

Would love to think we'd be allowed out to exercise in a week, though. Very fed up of being cooped up in the house 24/7!

I didn't see one child out for a walk today in Tindaya with a parent but perhaps it's different in the towns. Everyone here has a reasonable sized garden. The locals really don't seem too bothered by the 'not going out' restrictions, I see hardly any people out walking their dogs. In normal times I pass perhaps 3 or 4 people out with their dogs over the course of my two walks or going past my house, at the moment I see perhaps one person with a dog every other day.

I saw 2 young boys who live on our development out on their scooters without parents yesterday and walking up the road one much younger girl out with her dad, so fairly quiet here.

Cotillo had LOADS of children out and about, on scooters, bikes, playing Football on the beach. We have noticed just how quiet Cotillo is during lockdown. Yesterday, all we could hear were children!!

Also saw a couple of the beach and a woman having a swim. Unfortunately no CG in sight.

Have to report that at the southern end of the village all children we saw out in El Cotillo were accompanied by an adult. Today too, all is orderly,  controlled and sensible.  It's the adults with dogs who worry us most. Some are walking their pets whilst wearing face masks and protective gloves, but somewhat hypocritically allowing their animals to defacate anywhere and everywhere without a thought of picking up after them. There's the next virus in the making.

What change, if any, do people think this will bring for the island?

Are we likely to see more tourism than the mainland (especially as we head into winter and the islands become more attractive anyway)? Will we see an uptick in people coming from the mainland so they can congregate and stay out past 11pm? Will there be no noticeable changes here? Or, combined with the new testing structure for tourism, do you think people will be more willing to come here and will we see some more hotels open up again?
