The Spanish Prime Minister met with the regional Presidents virtually today, and they've agreed that wearing of masks will be made mandatory. The Cabinet is set to meet tomorrow to approve the measure.

The new ruling is that masks will be mandatory from 24 December.

Exceptions:
while practicing sports
being in natural spaces - countryside, mountains, beaches
in the family environment
where you can maintain a social distance of 1.5 meters

The Superior Court of Justice for the Canary Islands has approved the request of the Canarian Government to make the use of the COVID certificate mandatory for access to hospitality, catering and leisure establishments and some cultural venues such as theatres and cinemas at LEVEL 3 and LEVEL 4 alert. It will come into force after the publication in the BOE, and will apply to anyone over 12 years and 3 months old.
The new measures will be in place for one month and will require another authorisation if the Government wants to extend it.
The certificate will be required as proof of full vaccination, to show a negative COVID test result(self-diagnostic tests are not valid) carried out a maximum of 48 hours in advance, or a recovery certificate within the previous 11 and 180 days.
It will be compulsory in hotels, bars, and restaurants with a minimum capacity of 30 people, in nightlife establishments with the same capacity or in which, regardless of this, the consumption of food is allowed, as well as in betting and gambling venues.
The COVID Certificate must be presented to enter cinemas, theatres, auditoriums, with a capacity of 50 or more people or where eating or drinking is allowed; in gyms and sports centres, and in health and social health centres to accompany patients and users, with certain exceptions.
The COVID Certificate must also be presented to attend celebrations, music festivals, sporting Events and public shows attended by more than 500 people or, in which it is allowed to eat or drink.

Can someone please clarify for me exactly what I have to produce if entering a bar or restaurant? I entered a restaurant on Monday, and was given a table without any issues, and yesterday went into a bar, where all I was asked to do to enter my name NIA and telephone number on a list, similar to that we have seen when entering markets etc , which contained on a total of 8 entries, there were 10/12 people there at the time which was 17:30, the place had been open since 12:00, which suggests to me no one is bothering with it. add to this the fact that Caleta was quite busy yesterday and in my estimation less than 60% of the people I passed were wearing masks

It does seem very random at the moment. I was asked for my vaccination cert in one bar yesterday, but not in another where I stopped for coffee. As you say lots of people not wearing masks even in the busy areas (I passed two without one in the Atlantico center).

Having spent the last week in Caleta I can confirm very few places asking to see the COVID cert, even less checking the ID with the code, we even seen some people sharing COVID certs on their phones and reminding the person your name is XXXX if you are asked. 
Mask wearing in public is a sham, very few masks being worn, those that are are nearly all worn under the chin instead of on the face. 
Some mask wearing by staff in Restaurants, bars, cafes are also worn under the chin. People sitting up at the bar with no barriers...., it’s no surprise the numbers are climbing.

I had a hospital apt today and was delighted to be challenged for my certificate as I went in the main doors. But, if they didn't do it there nowhere else stands a chance!

Also saw loads of people out and about without masks in Puerto, or under their chin .....

After golf today we went to a bar who insisted that those who sat inside had QR code scanned to show they had been double vaccinated if you couldn't you had to sit outside. I used my NHS Travel  Certificate QR code.

Cheers for that, we are over in 10 days and was wondering if the NHS one would suffice.
