Three premises and five workers were sanctioned for irregularities in immigration and social security matters in Fuerteventura
In one of the premises inspected, two minors were identified, so the establishment was closed by the Local Police of Puerto del Rosario.
The National Police, in collaboration with the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate, has carried out an operation on different premises in the town of Puerto del Rosario to verify and eradicate possible crimes against workers' rights, such as social security fraud and human trafficking.
After efforts carried out by agents of the National Police, it was determined that several hotel and nightlife establishments in the capital of Fuerteventura could have among their staff workers in an irregular situation in Spain, and in turn, would be committing social security fraud as well as human trafficking.
Eight inspections have been carried out in different premises and 37 people have been identified, including managers and workers of the 3 companies.
As a result of these inspections, a total of three premises were sanctioned for different irregularities related to the hiring of workers, and 5 workers were also proposed for sanction for being in Spain in an irregular situation and lacking the proper work permit.
In one of the premises, a man was arrested for a crime of resistance/disobedience to law enforcement officers. In addition, in the same premises, two minors were identified, so it was closed by the Local Police of the town.
