Transfer from airport to el cotillo

Hi folks
Planning for next trip to el cotillo in a few months and considering airport transfer options. Travelling independently, (therefore taxi option too expensive) so wondered what experience others have had when using the airport shuttle bus or public transport. Thanks

Shuttle buses work, but often Cotillo is the final drop off, which means you could well be on the bus for two hours plus!

Local buses are complicated!  No. 3 Airport to Puerto, if you are really lucky, a direct bus to Cotillo (but there are very few daily services, 3 a day I think), or bus to Corralejo then change to the bus to Cotillo.  In all, it could be as long or longer than the Shuttle Bus.  

You could always try standing by the taxi rank and shouting 'anyone for Cotillo want to share'.

Thanks Tom, that's what I was thinking regarding shuttle times v local bus times. Best price I have found so far is with hoppa £21 return which seems reasonable.
